Our Lemon Rice Pilaf is a great side dish for our Kebabs, Chicken Shawarma and Lemon Basil Chicken. Try it as a quick and easy accompaniment to your regular week night meals or with any grilled, roasted or baked meat dish.
Lemon Rice Pilaf
1 cup long grain rice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 package Global Cuisine Seasonings Lemon Rice Pilaf
Add rice to a medium sauce pan with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 15 minutes or until rice is just tender. Drain water using a mesh strainer and return wet rice to the pan. Remove from heat and cover with tight fitting lid. Let stand for 5 minutes.
While rice is resting, mix seasoning with oil until fully incorporated. Add to rice and stir gently. Let stand 3 minutes before serving.
Additional Cooking Methods
Try our seasoning mix with your favorite rice or mix several types of rice together as a blend, such as wild rice (cook it separately), brown rice or jasmine rice. Just mix all the rice together first before mixing in the seasoning.
Your rice can also be steamed or cooked according to the rice package directions. Most importantly, the rice should be fluffy enough and still warm to absorb the oil and seasoning mix. Avoid overcooking the rice.
Lemon rice pilaf is a very versatile and simple accompaniment and our seasoning makes a great version you can serve with many types of meals.
Add fresh, finely chopped basil, 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice or a teaspoon of fresh lemon zest to give your rice pilaf a fresher taste
Try serving your rice, main dish and sauces on a large platter for a family-style experience. Pile the rice onto the center of the platter and layer on your grilled or roasted meats and place sauces or dips in small dishes around the sides. Simple garnishments, such as sliced or cut lemons make your platter pop!
